Howrah to Koraput
The best option according to me is train. Though there is a dedicated train from Howrah junction to Koraput, but, you can avail many other trains those reach Bhubaneswar.
Don’t worry! I am here to guide.
The direct train from Howrah Junction to Koraput is 18005 Sambaleswari express which starts from Howrah station at 10.20 pm. This train reaches (on time) 6.55 pm the next day.
Sometimes the train takes 2 – 3 hours more to reach Koraput.
If you want to avail other trains, you can follow these steps.
First reach Bhubaneswar then take a Hirakhand express to reach Koraput.
Generally the distance between Howrah junction to Koraput is 1057 km and the time is taken 21 hours.
The fair for 3A is INR 1350+ and for SL class is INR 505+.
You will enjoy the whole train journey to reach Koraput.
The beautiful greenery, blue mountains, mysterious tunnels are the major attractions during train journey.
If you plan to visit Duduma, the monsoon is the best time to explore.

Hotels to Stay at Night
After reaching Koraput, you can book a ln autorickshaw to reach City. In the city many hotels are available.
Though if you book hotels earlier, they will send you cab. Otherwise, you can follow the above.
The auto fair is around 150 – 200. The better you will get if you can bargain well.
You will get rooms from INR 1000. Just check the most important amenities like bed condition, toilet, view from hotel (optional) fooding etc.
If you come with family, I personally recommend to book hotels earlier. Generally hotels are available here.
Food quality is averagely good here.
Car Rent for Sightseeing
Generally the sightseeing is of two days. So the car rent is between INR 7000 to INR 12000 depending on types of car you hire.
The first day you can witness the beautiful Duduma. On the way to Duduma, you will meet Kolab Dam which is also a beautiful natural water reservoir.
The beautiful surroundings on your way add spelical flavour to make your journey more tasty.
Entry fee of Kolab Dam is INR 10/Head.
The dam has two parts. Upper dam and lower dam.
The scenic beauty is incredible. The whole dam is surrounded by beautiful small bluish hills. The beautiful reflection of surrounded hills add a different level of satisfaction.
Oh! I forgot to mention one important thing. The Kolab dam is build on the river Kolab.
Not only the Kolab dam, you’ll see almost 200 types of flowers here just at Kolab park. The beautiful and mesmerising beauty.
You definitely know that theese are the mountains of Eastern Ghat mountain range. Even on the way, the beauty of Eastern Ghat mountain range is always add another attraction.

Duduma Waterfalls
As you love to explore your dream destination, Duduma Waterfalls, you need to go another 50 kms (approx) from Kolab Dam.
If you skip your breakfast, you can stay anywhere on the way. One of the popular places for breakfast on the way to Duduma waterfalls is Lamtapur.
You can enjoy traditional breakfast there and enjoy the traditional tribal Bonda Haat just after a while.
The Bonda tribals are another attractions to visit Duduma.
I believe that to explore a place, explore the local culture.
So, you’ll enjoy the traditional tribal cultures and their lifestyle.
Oh! Here is an interesting fact. Almost the whole Bonda Haat, the vendors are women. You can proudly say women-driven Bonda haat.
According to me, Bonda Haat is fully recommended to those who love to explore the traditional cultures and witness the beauty of Duduma waterfalls.
After a while, you’ll reach Duduma waterfalls.
The first look of Duduma waterfalls will mesmerize you.
After reaching there, you have to trek downwards to reach the waterfalls named Duduma.
This is actually a view point, you can enjoy the beauty of Duduma waterfalls over the Machkund river.
The height of this waterfalls is 570 ft (approx). You can reach towards Duduma waterfalls using 1300+ stairs.Â
This waterfall meets the river Machkund which flows amid the Eastern ghat mountains.Â
The opposite site of Dudua waterfalls is Andrapradesh.
